The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include quarterly bonuses, Long Term Incentives, an open Paid Time Off policy, and many region-specific benefits. 

Tokyo Base Salary Range: 6,900,000 - 8,600,000 JPY per year

Indeed is seeking an Application Security Engineer who is passionate about how applications are designed, built, and exploited -- products that scale to tens of millions of pageviews a day with over 200 million unique visitors per month and over 25 global offices.

Indeed offers security practitioners a chance to improve their skills against a complex and dynamic ecosystem, distributed across multiple continents and containing customer information from millions of job seekers. Role & Responsibilities:

  • Confirm and prioritize the remediation of discovered security bugs through our Bug Bounty program (

  • Identify and remediate security bugs across Indeed's web and mobile platforms.

  • Stay aware of the latest vulnerabilities and exploits.

  • Participate in secure design reviews & vulnerability assessments

  • Educate Software Engineers on coding best practices (e.g. - OWASP Top 10) and the latest attack vectors. 

  • Identify opportunities for automating the detection and remediation of vulnerabilities and insecure coding practices

About you.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent evidence of aptitude 

  • 2+ yrs. experience with Golang, Python, JavaScript, or Java

  • Solid understanding of common web application technologies, languages, and frameworks like Python (Django) &  Java (Spring) 

  • Demonstrable interest and knowledge in software security

  • Familiar with web application security testing tools like ZAP or Burp Suite
