Your job.

In partnership with the Site Director, the Associate Site Lead is responsible for delivering and growing healthy, effective and diverse Product/Engineering talent in a productive environment to Indeed in a single metro-area.  In addition, the Associate Site Director will be expected to contribute and/or drive initiatives supporting Indeed’s Office of the Chief of Staff and or global Product Engineering.


Responsibilities


  • Recognize and/or anticipate process/program gaps that impede Indeed’s Product Engineering growth or effectiveness and be able to implement new programs to address these gaps.  

  • Responsible for successful site-wide hiring in a wide variety of Engineering roles with tasks including:

    • Making hiring and leveling decisions and running debriefs for multiple roles

    • Partnering with Talent Attraction on offer construction

    • Partnering with Talent Attraction on hiring funnel efficiency

    • Participate in closing/selling activities

    • Work with compensation team and suggest changes to local market compensation bands

    • Ensuring Indeed’s “hiring bar” is consistent locally and across other Product Engineering sites as appropriate

    • Guide Talent Attraction on local priorities

    • Measure and update business areas on mentorship and leadership capacity within the site

  • Contribute to Product/Engineering Indeed brand awareness within the local Metro Market including managing community outreach events.

  • Partner with all Business Area leaders to understand local growth needs as well as plan new team creations or team movements.  

  • Partner with other Site Directors to ensure consistency (where appropriate) or share local process changes (where appropriate).  

  • Management of Indeed’s quarterly review process including anchoring review score decisions and suggest improvements.

  • Partner with Global Mobility to ensure the mobility needs (visa/relocation) are met locally.

  • Measure, understand and (as needed) improve attrition

  • Effectively partner with other groups and organizations in Indeed to make a site run successfully including Real Estate, Talent Attraction, Human Resources, Employee Experience, Finance/Compensation, and others.

  • Be a (business area) agnostic advisor for all roles in Product Engineering (Employee career progression, compensation, recruiting, acting as conduit to Human Resources and Employee Experience, provide career counselling and facilitate team changes to increase career growth).

  • Provide mentorship and coaching to a wide variety of engineering roles in first 3-6 months of new team members careers at Indeed.

  • Work on location specific issues that needs to be handled (i.e. local government regulations, compliance, etc.).

  • Working with the global Chief of Staff org on company wide process improvement initiatives that impact Product Engineering effectiveness globally.

About you.

Requirements


  • 10+ years of Product Engineering experience with a minimum of 5 years in a strategic leadership role.

  • Experience growing Product Engineering teams in a hyper-growth environment (highly desirable).

  • Experience managing teams crossing multiple functions and geographies within engineering and/or product.

  • Superior EQ and communication skills.

  • Experience coordinating/program company-wide management initiative.

  • Ability to use data to drive decisions.

  • Ability to work effectively across different partner teams.

  • People oriented and passion for growing careers.
