Our mission.

As the world’s number 1 job site, our mission is to help people get jobs. We need talented, passionate people working together to make this happen. We are looking to grow our teams with people who share our energy and enthusiasm for creating the best experience for job seekers.

The team.

We are a rapidly-growing, fast-moving, highly-capable UX team building the most popular job site on the planet. Our designers work in Seattle, San Francisco, Austin, Tokyo, Singapore and Hyderabad, collaborating with Product Managers and Engineering to deliver simple solutions to the real-world problems that job seekers and employers face hiring and getting hired. Most importantly, our team is expected to deliver results, and be able to demonstrate the impact our changes have on our business.

Your job.

UX Design internships at Indeed last 10 - 12 weeks, during which time you will work with a mentor on any one of several possible product teams learning to translate what you’ve learned in school to real-world design situations intended to deliver measurable success. These projects are not just challenging, they are critical to our business and impact millions of job seekers and employers around the world.

You'll create high-fidelity designs that define the user experience and user interface for new and existing features across Indeed’s core search experience. You'll quickly and thoughtfully incorporate team feedback into designs. You’ll also validate your designs through qualitative user research (working with a UX researcher) and A/B testing (working with a product manager). You’ll understand how to apply our existing design language, but also proactively seek opportunities to extend and improve our system to elevate the design of our product.

You will work on a small team with other designers, researchers, product managers and content strategists to design innovative solutions from conception through validation. At the conclusion of your internship, you will also have the opportunity to present your work and share your experiences with other interns.

For your project you will complete the following tasks, as time permits:

  • Review project goals and success measures with product management

  • Familiarize yourself with data and research to understand the user needs to be addressed

  • Design high-level wireframes to present several iterations of your intended solution

  • Circulate for review and, if possible, test your variations

  • Create high-fidelity mocks and interactive prototypes for testing

  • Iterate your designs based on test outcomes; present the final versions to stakeholders and teammates.

About you.

Our hope is that you will also have fun collaborating a small to medium scope project and build a few friendships along the way. We also want you to experience our corporate culture, which is focused on empowering individuals to accomplish great things. We look for designers who love intellectual challenges, are eager to learn, value data and research in the design process and are strong advocates for users at every stage of their engagement with Indeed. We believe in autonomy, responsibility, and fast iteration.
