The team.

We are a rapidly-growing, fast-moving, highly-capable UX team building the most popular job site on the planet. Our designers work in Seattle, San Francisco, Austin, Tokyo and Hyderabad, collaborating with Product Managers and Engineering to deliver simple solutions to the real-world problems that job seekers and employers face hiring and getting hired. Most importantly, our team is expected to deliver results, and be able to demonstrate the impact our changes have on our business.

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards include quarterly bonuses, Long Term Incentive Plan units, an open Paid Time Off policy, and many region-specific benefits.

Seattle Base Salary Range: 88,000 - 112,000 USD per year

Your job.

You and your team will be responsible for collaborating with stakeholders to make it simple and intuitive for employers to use Indeed to keep track of job applicants, communicate with them effectively, and conduct interviews to fill the roles they need. This work is especially exciting due to its focus on the connection between employers and their candidates, which entails designing experiences for both employers and jobseekers.

What would you be doing?

  • Designing UX improvements for

  • Working with UX Designers and team leads on product iterations and improvements

  • Collaborating with product management on ideas that will help them reach their business goals

  • Using customer-centric, data-informed design methodology

  • Engaging with user research to ensure the customer’s voice is incorporated into the design process

  • Collaborating with teams that are both co-located and globally distributed

  • Ensuring a good working relationship between the job seeker product UX team and the central design language team

About you.

You'll define the interaction and/or interface for new and existing products and features. Our process is pretty fluid - you'll develop prototypes, screenshots, wireframes -- whatever gets the job done. You'll quickly and thoughtfully incorporate team feedback into designs, validating them through A/B testing (working with product management) and/or qualitative user research (either yourself or working with a UX researcher).

  • You will submit a portfolio that demonstrates experience designing usable interfaces and interactions 

  • Additional skills in visual design, user research, and front-end engineering a plus

  • Experience with consumer web-based products is a plus 

  • Ability to create prototypes using HTML/CSS/JS is a plus
