We are looking for a qualitative-focused UX researchers who can help the Hire team understand the “why” behind behaviors and attitudes of our diverse user groups - employers, candidates, sales, and hiring specialists. These efforts will ensure the experiences we create are easy to use, useful, and efficient. On Indeed Hire, researchers have the opportunity to collaborate with a wide spectrum of stakeholders, including Product, UX, Marketing, Sales, and Business Operations.
So what would you be doing?
Indeed helps people find jobs. We are best known for our job search (www.indeed.com), but we do other things related to jobs and hiring, too.
You'll work with other members of the UX team supporting our Product and Engineering teams in Austin, validating new ideas and helping teams answer their questions through qualitative research. We are a small group because we are incredibly picky with who we hire and we prioritize the things that matter.
Some of the ways you may support the team include:
Validate new designs through ad-hoc or formalized user feedback sessions with internal users or customers.
Plan and carry out interviews and surveys to inform future product work.
Build relationships with key stakeholders and clients to gain deeper insights.
Establish and manage relationships with research-related vendors.
Conduct research activities as needed to support your particular product area.
Degree in Human Computer Interaction, Information Design, Graphic Design, or a related design or behavioral science discipline.
1-2 years (including internship/education) conducting user research for software/web-based products with stories to share
Ability to quickly share research results with teams (top line results in hours, not weeks)
Flexible approach to research: Our goal is to provide product teams value. If an existing research method doesn’t do that, we invent our own research method
Appetite to perform all research-related tasks in the research project lifecycle: Create a test plan, write a screener, recruit users, schedule users, moderate test, create video clip highlights, top line results, create research findings summary, and effectively present and share results
Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and act as a strategic partner in product decisions
