Are you excited about growing community? Do you love helping new users get up and running? Do you enjoy mentoring, speaking, and social media? Then Indeed is looking for you. We are building out an open source practice. We have a few open source projects with some dedicated users. We have more projects coming, and a desire to build a reputation as a great open source company. With your expertise, we will grow these projects and become better members of the open source community.

As a community manager working on the open source team in our San Francisco office, you’ll be a part of a small, talented group. You’ll engage with both the users of and the developers of our open source projects, advocating for the needs of the community while serving as a public face for the projects. You’ll help new projects understand how to engage with their communities, providing guidance based on your experiences and learnings. You will play a key role in helping spread open source best practices across Indeed, modeling open source participation.

As a Community manager on the Open Source team, you will…

  • Engage with our external community on GitHub and social media

  • Build strong community management skills by interfacing with industry peers

  • Learn about, use, and contribute to our open source projects

  • Be a champion for open source, both inside and outside the company

  • Write and speak about your work, internally and externally

  • Help organize events, meetups, and hackathons

About you.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or recent Bootcamp graduation, or relevant work experience
  • 5+ years of professional work experience
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Are passionate about open source and enabling new contributors
  • Love to learn and develop new skills continuously
  • Can bridge the gap between technical and social skills
