The Content Strategist will partner very closely with product, design, and research across Indeed’s SMB team, which includes people in Seattle, Austin, San Francisco, and Tokyo. Our goal for content strategists is to support the most usable, consistent, inclusive, and delightful experience for employers. Our team is expected to deliver results and demonstrate the impact we have on our users’ success.
What would you be doing?
This hybrid role is a mix of content strategy, content design, and UX writing. Must love both high-level strategy and hands-on writing.
As a Content Strategist, you'll move fluidly from the big picture to the smallest detail. You'll use your strong analysis skills and content design principles to ensure content aligns with both user goals and business objectives.
You will also be responsible for ensuring all content you create supports the most usable, consistent, inclusive, and delightful experience for employers. You'll identify content gaps and low-performing areas and prioritize those for improvements.
Partner with UX designers and product managers to translate business objectives into content experiences.
Share your work and give feedback to design teammates through pinups, office hours, etc.
Define how content should adapt to different user segments, personas, and intents.
Optimize content for localization.
Perform heuristic evaluations, content audits, or competitive analyses of existing content experiences to identify areas of potential content improvement.
Create information architecture frameworks, wireframes, taxonomies, content governance documentation, and priority guides to communicate the overall content plan.
Craft success measures for content that are testable and provable.
Interpret both qualitative and quantitative data and use it to make sound data-driven content decisions.
Ensure that content supports brand tone and voice, style guidelines, SEO guidelines, and follows accessibility requirements and legal compliance.
Write clear, concise, usable, and useful UI text, ensuring consistency across all channels.
Assist in establishing, documenting, and socializing content best practices.
BA in English, journalism, advertising, marketing, or other relevant field or equivalent education and experience.
A minimum of 5 years of content strategy, content design, UX writing, or similar experience.
Superior writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Passionate advocate for creating user-centered experiences while balancing business and user needs.
Strong understanding of writing best practices and how content fits into the user experience.
Experience collaborating with designers, engineers, and product managers.
Experience in Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
Familiarity with common design tools like Figma or Sketch.
Knowledge of A/B testing, user testing, and analytics.
Strong project management skills.
Experience with community or user-generated content.
Multiple language fluency a plus.
Experience with design thinking.
Experience with accessibility and inclusive hiring practices.
Experience presenting and defending your ideas to the partners and leadership of the product and design organizations.
