The team.We are a rapidly-growing, fast-moving, highly-capable UX team building the most popular job site on the planet. Our designers work in Seattle, San Francisco, Austin, Tokyo and Hyderabad, collaborating with Product Managers and Engineering to deliver simple solutions to the real-world problems that job seekers and employers face hiring and getting hired. Most importantly, our team is expected to deliver results, and be able to demonstrate the impact our changes have on our business.
The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards include quarterly bonuses, Long Term Incentive Plan units, an open Paid Time Off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
San Francisco Bay Area Base Salary Range: 175,000 - 225,000 USD per year
Brand Systems is an interdisciplinary team of interaction and visual designers, animators, writers, and producers. Working with teams across the company, we’re driving Indeed’s first comprehensive brand initiative and defining our content standards throughout the product experience.
As the bridge between UX, Product, and Marketing, we work on defining our company’s brand narrative and our in-product voice and tone standards. We ensure that our core values shine through everything Indeed creates. This is an exciting moment, and we’re seeking a thoughtful, empathetic leader to help drive our work forward.
Manage our editor and freelance copywriters under the Brand Systems team
Mentor and manage our content team, review quality of work and create opportunities for projects across our UX teams
Set clear goals for team members to increase their impact, develop their career goals, and focus on areas for improvement
Identify opportunities for the content team to lead projects and initiatives across our UX and product experiences
Collaborate with our Design Program Manager and Creative Director on project priorities and develop high-level quarterly OKRs for the team
Accountable for content quality across all product and marketing channels
Proactively partner with Product and Marketing teams to ensure our voice and narrative are consistent across multiple touch points
Execute on a 6-month, 1-year, and 2-year vision for a content strategy that connects job seekers with employers through a cohesive narrative and consistent voice that expresses Indeed’s brand identity
Identify opportunities and create standards for expressing our brand through content in both functional and expressive moments in the user journey, including UI microcopy, landing pages, emails, blogs, and other areas
Partner with Marketing, Product, and User Research to make decisions guided by the needs of our users and designed to enhance the end-to-end content experience
Use quantitative studies to understand business impact and measure progress
Lead the next evolution of our UX publication, Indeed.Design, establishing us a thought leader in the UX Design industry and share our brand story
Craft a year-long vision for a publication strategy for our Indeed.Design publication with our editors, copywriters, and designers
Develop a streamlined editorial process for researching new stories, identifying relevant subjects, building cultural relationships across our global UX Design offices, and ensuring alignment with Marketing, Legal, and other internal stakeholders
Alongside our editor for Indeed.Design, create a strategic promotion plan for the publication through social media outlets, outside publications, hosted events, external speaking engagements
Elevate the quality and craft of our content strategists and copywriters to create an inspiring environment and delivery of timely projects
Promote design-centric content strategy and thought leadership internally throughout the company and externally through content communities
Support and guide product teams in the development of content strategy through collaboration on projects, workshops, trainings, and office hours
Focus on the development of the writing team and identify workshops, conferences, trainings, and other ways to enhance the craft of their work and establish a network of peers
You’ll have experience with global brands and/or world-class agencies:
5+ years experience in content strategy across UX or Product; 2 years of experience managing content strategists and copywriters at a B2C technology company
Proven ability to drive consensus and collaborate successfully with executive stakeholders and cross-functional partners in a fast-paced environment
