As a Data Governance Manager at Indeed, you will have a direct impact on the business by helping our growing Data Governance team define, develop, and maintain business processes for successful data governance and quality within Indeed. You want to be in the mix technically while providing leadership to your team. You have successfully led and earned the respect of talented analysts and delivered on challenging technical solutions. You understand that the best managers serve their teams, removing roadblocks and giving individual contributors autonomy and ownership. As our organization grows, you will help ensure we keep the talent bar high, and grow the skills and capabilities of our team.
Qualifications and Requirements:
2+ years leading analyst teams (of 3+ team members)
3+ years work experience in data governance/management related role collaborating with different parts of the organization; emphasis on developing and implementing data standards, policies, practices, and procedures that lead to substantive improvements in data integrity
Familiarity with languages such as SQL, Python and/or Java
Enthusiasm for helping team members improve their skills and grow their careers
Exceptional stakeholder management skills
Experience leading service-oriented, large-scale projects involving multiple teams or divisions; able to influence other teams and stakeholders without authority
Comfortable working through ambiguous situations to define precise requirements and priorities and drive outcomes
Strong process development, planning, tracking and presentation skills
Attention to detail, and sense of urgency, and commitment to deadlines
Strong organizational skills and demonstrated capacity to develop and implement practical strategies, plans and solutions to identified issues and problems
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify quantify and effectively raise business risks associated with data quality or non-compliance
What we'd love to see (but isn't required):
Exposure to tools used to support data management, specifically business glossary and metadata management, data profiling, and data quality
Knowledge of data governance best practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets, and approaches related to data protection
Command of data related government regulatory requirements (GDPR, CCPA), including emerging trends and issues
