The infrastructure team consists of 40+ data and infrastructure engineers and is growing fast. You will partner with engineering to create data infrastructure that will support every product, engineering, and analyst team at Indeed. The team works with both on-prem and cloud-based infrastructure, and we utilize a combination of industry standard and custom built infrastructure solutions.
As Technical Product Manager at Indeed, you will define the future of your product and what the team should work on. You will be empowered to set ambitious goals for your product and team. Your goals will not be easy to achieve; they should inspire and motivate the team to think big.
You will sit with the infrastructure engineering team and work closely with them on a daily basis. You will define requirements, measure KPIs, track experiments and frequently ship releases. You will do data analysis, whether it’s running queries in MySQL, searching through logs, or using the plethora of in-house tools specially built for the colossal amount of data Indeed gathers (see:  http://go.indeed.com/indeed-imhotep).

You’ve got a technical background, and are comfortable slinging some code to solve a problem. You understand how software development teams work, and how engineers think. Most of all, you love solving hard technical challenges to make a difference in the lives of other people, whether they be job seekers, employers or your fellow Indeedians.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Electrical Engineering or a closely related field, or equivalent experience.
2+ years of product management experience focused on data infrastructure.
7+ years experience with data infrastructure in a product or engineering role or 10+ years experience in systems development at large technology companies.
Deep familiarity with data infrastructure technology and implementations at scale.
Prior ownership or development contribution of distributed data systems in an engineering capacity.
Familiarity with the following technologies: Hadoop, HDFS, Kafka, Airflow, Hive, Presto, Spark, and Redshift.
Background working with on-prem, cloud-based, and hybrid data infrastructure
Ability to drive, contribute to, and communicate solutions to technical product challenges.
Ability to roll-up your sleeves and work in process or resource gaps and fill it in yourself.
Outstanding data analysis and data-driven decision making skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
