The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards include quarterly bonuses, Long Term Incentive Plan units, an open Paid Time Off policy, and many region-specific benefits.

Austin Base Salary Range: 131,000 - 183,000 USD

Your job.

As Director of Business Strategy & Operations, you will be responsible for helping drive the P&L of one of our largest revenue generating business units. You will work along side of the General Manager of the SMB business and our SVP of Product. You will be responsible for continuing to grow the business at a healthy trajectory while balancing the need to find efficiencies across the organization. All business leaders at Indeed, including Directors and above, are analytical, creative, and collaborative. We obsess over data and drive for simplicity. A successful business strategist will lead through data and insights, obsess about customer outcomes in every decision she/he makes and lead by developing the trust and respect of teammates. 


A few examples of what you will drive as part of this critical role: 

  • Annual business planning - be responsible for working with key leaders, including the CEO,  COO, GM of SMB and all key functional leaders (product, marketing, sales, CS etc.) to drive yearly OKRs, Revenue plan and investment asks

  • Ongoing business reviews - drive ongoing monthly business reviews with  C-level stakeholders and help the GM with board level strategic discussions

  • Ongoing Resource allocation - work on appropriate resource allocation and optimization to drive P&L goals/OKRs

  • Product strategy and M&A - work on understanding areas where it may be better to use a buy/partner strategy and appropriately drive alignment with the relevant internal stakeholders (C-level, Corpdev)

  • Work across the organization - look for opportunities to collaborate and share ideas across business units to improve scale and outcome. Be an  enabler for increased efficiency and speed of execution

About you.

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in an analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Economics, Finance etc.)

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in business management, business consulting or related discipline in the technology sector

  • 5+ years of managing teams, globally 

  • Deep experience building and managing products, with an insatiable passion for product development as a technology solution

  • Global or International business management experience highly desired, preferably outside of North America (International growth is critical to our future and someone who understands business globally is preferable)

  • Demonstrated experience making data-driven decisions effectively and efficiently

  • Exceptional communication and influencing abilities

  • Demonstrated cross functional leadership abilities
