The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include quarterly bonuses, Long Term Incentives, an open Paid Time Off policy, and many region-specific benefits. 

Austin Area Base Salary Range: 199,000 - 261,000 USD per year

Your job.

As a leader of the International Platforms team, you will be responsible for partnering with Product, UX and other engineering teams to make Indeed’s products delight all our users worldwide. You will work to define a technical strategy for addressing international opportunities, identifying solutions that potentially span multiple teams.  Your engineering teams will embed with other teams to help them make core parts of the product better suited for different market needs. This configuration goes well beyond simple language translation and localisation, and into the behavior of the features themselves.

You will lead a team of “dual citizens” who are fully members of the International Platforms team, but work deeply in the code bases of and with their “host” teams to address long-standing issues which have blocked strong adoption of the host team’s products and platforms in Indeed’s international markets.

You will provide technical leadership and guidance and would help facilitate the team to build out new capabilities and/or systems in a manner such that they drive efficiency of execution while solving for scale, reliability and flexibility. You will coach and grow technical leaders and help them be successful individual contributors or managers at Indeed. You will partner with other technical leaders, drive thought leadership and help accomplish initiatives outside the immediate scope of responsibility through influence and/or guidance. 

In short, you will...

  • Lead, inspire, and influence to make sure your team is successful

  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with the various host teams in which your team members are embedded

  • Partner with the recruiting team to attract and retain high-quality and diverse talent

  • Establish great rapport with other development teams, Product Managers, Sales and Customer Success to maintain high levels of visibility, efficiency, and collaboration

  • Ensure teams have appropriate technical direction, leadership and balance between short-term impact and long term architectural vision.

  • Lead 2-5 software engineering teams, and grow them to 5-9 and beyond.

What we are looking for:

  • 5+ years managing software engineering teams in consumer Web or SaaS products

  • Experience leading a geographically distributed software engineering organization comprising multiple teams

  • Strong technical background that allows you to advocate for and support your engineers

  • Experience building strong partnerships with other job functions, like product, marketing and UX, to keep teams collaborating smoothly and working together to improve the product.

  • Ensure teams have appropriate technical direction, leadership, and balance between short-term impact and long term architectural vision.

  • Experience in working across partner teams to diplomatically influence their roadmaps and deliverables

  • Experience in product internationalization desirable

  • Experience living and/or working outside of the US a positive
