The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include quarterly bonuses, Long Term Incentive Plan units, an open Paid Time Off policy, and many region-specific benefits.

San Francisco Bay Area Base Salary Range: 184,000 - 254,000 USD per year

Your job.

The Director of Marketing Technology (MarTech) is a high impact, strategic, and key leadership role helping establish the vision and operating model for the MarTech organization. You will be responsible for three key areas of the business - Business Partnership, Application Delivery, and Team Leadership. 

Partnering with our Marketing teams, you will work to understand their strategy, business needs, and problems, and convert them into a prioritized actionable roadmap. Your experience should serve as an input into business specific conversation which may not be directly technology-related either. Your job is not only to partner, but take the partnership more upstream with our stakeholders. 

Application Delivery and Support: We get stuff done. This involves planning and executional skills ranging from program management to quality assurance testing and offshore delivery. You will identify and optimize new operating models within teams that will help deliver quality products with high velocity, optimal cost, and no friction, including applying scale and capabilities with strategic external delivery partners.

As the lead for Marketing Technology, you will lead talented and high performing leaders as direct reports who have internal and external developers, administrators, and analysts within the Sales and Marketing domains (Salesforce, Adobe, WordPress, Marketo, etc). You will provide them with career mentoring including training and career development plans also ensuring that obstacles and cleared for them so that they can focus on delivery and be their most productive and engaged self! You also have an eye on the future and will ensure the organization, resourcing and operating model align with Indeed’s core values and vision.

  • Own and build on the relationship with our Marketing organization including strategic roadmap, priorities, end to end application delivery, production support and ongoing maintenance of sales and marketing technologies

  • Develop and maintain methodologies and standards for application delivery and platform support

  • Develop a solution map for critical projects and review major deliverables for quality and standards alignment

  • Own the stability, security, modernization, and operations of the technology platforms supporting the Sales/Marketing organizations especially Marketo, Salesforce, and WordPress.

  • Responsible for the documentation of the marketing technology architecture, the assessment of marketing systems and the development of a strategic technology roadmap

  • Delivers effective organizational change and communications for technology implementation and process re-engineering within marketing

  • Captures and disseminates internal and external marketing technology standards

  • Collaborates with key internal customers and stakeholders to ensure there is a cohesive creation, execution and testing/optimization strategy to increase engagement

  • Lead internal marketing automation administrators and specialists, and lead the selection of agencies and third-party vendors

About you.

  • 10+ years of experience working in senior strategic roles within IT organizations of high growth companies, including a very deep focus on GTM technologies supporting Marketing.

  • 10+ years of experience in developing CRM solutions & applications supporting Sales/Marketing areas. Some of the critical platform experiences include Marketo, Salesforce, WordPress.

  • Evangelist committed to ensuring complex ideas are explained and reach the audience in a simple and easily understood format.

  • Positive influencing skills, both verbal and through the preparation of written materials, in order to build relationships, influence and negotiate

  • Extensive Background in scaling with internal FTEs and external partners in a distributed environment

  • Understanding of sales cycles and product lifecycles and their respective pressures on the marketing function to drive demand and revenue
