Our Marketing team helps job seekers and employers around the world to discover Indeed. Whether creating impactful advertising, coding bidding algorithms, or looking for the news stories in Indeed's labor data, Indeed marketers bring diverse skills to help shape and share Indeed’s story. Every month, over 200 million people count on us to help them find jobs, publish their resumes, process their job applications, and connect them to qualified candidates for their job openings. Your job.

The Indeed Hiring Lab is a team of economists, researchers, and writers whose insights help drive the global labor market conversation. The Hiring Lab produces short-form research on job-market topics using Indeed’s proprietary data and publicly available data; our research is published on the Indeed blog and other media sites. Our primary audiences are journalists, policymakers, and researchers, as well as employers and job-seekers. 

 The Editorial Director will lead the Hiring Lab’s content strategy by overseeing editorial processes, developing our research formats and styles, and guiding our editorial planning. The Editorial Director will be responsible for maximizing the value of Hiring Lab research for our primary audiences. This is a new leadership role at Indeed and reports to our Chief Economist.

About you.

  • Develop and maintain processes for writing, reviewing, editing, and distributing research.
  • Identify and experiment with new forms of storytelling, production, and distribution.
  • Guide the Hiring Lab’s editorial planning based on audience demand and the competitive landscape.
  • Recruit, mentor, and inspire the Hiring Lab’s editorial team.
  • Manage relationships with other Indeed teams that produce and distribute content, including PR, events, marketing, and design.
  • Seven years of relevant professional experience.
  • Demonstrated success in writing, editing, or publishing technical content for non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working in media, tech, finance, or other fast-paced work environments.
  • Knowledge of economics and labor-market topics.
  • Familiarity with statistical concepts and data visualization.
  • Experience managing content professionals.
