How you work.
You will provide hands-on leadership for a full-stack development team building and enhancing products and systems in our service-oriented, highly scalable, multi-datacenter environment. As our engineering organization grows, you will help ensure we keep the talent bar high, and growing the skills and capabilities of your team. - Significant prior success as a Software Engineer working on challenging problems of scale
- Strong ability to coach developers, helping them improve their skills and grow their careers
- Solid knowledge of data structures and algorithms and excellent programming skills
- The ability to guide a team to achieve important goals together
- The desire to solve tough problems with quality software at scale
- An understanding of the value derived from shipping code rapidly to production and learning/iterating on the results.
- A deep understanding of the web
- Strong knowledge of databases, both SQL and NoSQL
- Experience with service-oriented and event-driven system architectures
- Experience building high-performance distributed systems
About the Jobseeker Applications team:
The Jobseeker Applications team is focused on creating a great experience for jobseekers on Indeed. This team creates applications to help jobseekers organize their job search, builds intelligent systems to help jobseekers make better decisions, and integrates with other Indeed products to optimize the overall job search experience. The Jobseeker Applications team is a full-stack team that is building mobile and desktop web applications supported by RESTful services, email and push notifications, as well as the data storage and backend services to support their products. This team works primarily in Java with ReactJS as well as Indeed's open source technologies like Imhotep, Boxcar, and Proctor.
