How an Immigration Compliance Specialist works.

At Indeed the Immigration Compliance Specialist acts as the point of contact for the U.S. Immigration Green Card Program. In this role, the Immigration Compliance Specialist will be the subject matter expert and consult with various internal and external stakeholders including Recruiters, Candidates, Employees, HR, and Service Partners on all the U.S. immigration matters. Specifically, manage the full cycle PERM labor certification process, I-140 and I-485 green card stages. In addition, will provide backup support to U.S. Immigration Specialist as well as provide support in other miscellaneous projects and tasks related to immigration and global mobility programs.
Own responsibility for immigration compliance for all PERM and Green Card filings
Provide guidance to all stakeholder questions regarding immigration requirements and timelines
Counsel Human Resource Business Partners on Indeed’s immigration best practice guidelines and requirements for the various types of immigration filings
PERM Labor Certification:
Monitor foreign national population monthly to determine Green card eligibility and request approval to start process with managers and HRBP’s
Review prevailing wage issues with managers and HRBP’s
Open and close immigration job postings on employment website
Monitor and screen applicants resumes and phone screens
Work with managers to schedule technical phone screenings and review applicants resumes
Download all applicant resumes and applications for DOL audit compliance
Prepare and complete recruitment results, provide to immigration counsel and maintain audit files
Review form I-140 forms and support letters
Work with managers on PERM Audits and I-140 Request for Evidence
Track and monitor critical deadlines by developing and maintaining reports with attention to detail
Minimum of 3 years of U.S. business immigration experience in a fast-paced environment
Bachelor's degree required in Business, Human Resources or related field
Extensive knowledge of all types of visas, including but not limited to H-1B, TN, L-1, F-1, J, E-3, PERM, I-140, and I-485 AOS
Ability to interact and coordinate with all levels of the organization
Continuously evaluate and improve processes/procedures
Stellar customer service skills and the ability to build working relationships at all levels
Pride in ownership and extreme attention to detail
Exceptional decision making and problem solving skills with passion for data integrity
Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks in order to meet tight deadlines
Respond to email inquiries regarding PERM labor certification and green card matters
Participate in meetings to discuss immigration matters with immigration counsel, management, and employees
Ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity with a high degree of professionalism in all aspects of job responsibilities
This role is critical to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, policies and procedures governing immigration and adherence to company policies at all times
