Indeed is seeking a Manager to join our growing Legal Operations team. The Legal Operations team provides various services to the business, from assisting with compliance questions to resolving escalated complaints to creating resources and trainings for stakeholders. The team manages the intake and investigation of requests for legal guidance, identifying patterns and executing proactive initiatives to educate the business. The Legal Operations Manager works with attorneys, leadership, and stakeholders to ensure that those services are provided efficiently and that the team’s initiatives are focused on the right risks. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be able to work at a fast pace, and have relevant management experience.
Manage a team of individual contributors.
Conduct regular 1:1s and provide coaching, mentoring, career pathing, and constructive feedback to direct reports.
Responsible for hiring, training, onboarding, and performance management.
Communicate updates from leadership, manage inter-team relationships, and work closely with management counterparts within the Legal team to foster team collaboration.
Own team goals and be responsible for measuring progress and evaluating impact.
Conduct trend analysis on workflows, implement process improvements, and scale programs within the Legal team and with stakeholders in other departments.
Be a business operations expert and act as an escalation point for resolving difficult inquiries and complaints, in order to help reduce risk.
Clearly communicate complex Legal decisions to stakeholders both within and outside Indeed.
Help define, cultivate, communicate, and promote a rewarding organizational culture.
Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years related experience in a fast-paced environment
1+ years of direct people management experience, including mentoring and developing team members
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Distinctive problem solving and analytical skills, ability to solve complex and diverse business problems (commercial, operational, organizational)
Comfortable with ambiguity and ever-changing circumstances while able to exercise sound judgement in decision-making
Ability to think ahead and anticipate issues before they arise. Proactively seeks improvements to processes/systems and sees projects through to completion
Ability to work in a confidential manner due to access to information of a sensitive nature
Team player with ability to influence and collaborate at all levels of the organization in a professional manner
Maintains a positive attitude even while working under pressure
A plus if you have:
Background in risk mitigation and/or policy development and implementation
Experience liaising with government agencies, courts, compliance organizations, and/or law firms
Proven experience with long-term project management and scaling operations as part of a global team
