The team.

Our Legal Team is devoted to leading projects that support Indeed's global infrastructure growth. Members of the Legal Team work closely with multiple departments within the organization, such as Product, Engineering, Marketing, Procurement, Finance, HR and IT, to review legal issues and implement decisions in order to get internal teams the tools and products they need to get their job done, while mitigating risk and exposure to the company. We take pride in our strong analytical competencies, our detailed knowledge of Indeed’s various teams and needs, and our ability to build and maintain strong relationships to help us achieve our goals. The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include quarterly bonuses, Long Term Incentives, an open Paid Time Off policy, and many region-specific benefits. 

Austin Base Salary Range: 86,000 - 116,000 USD per year

Indeed’s Privacy Department works to ensure that we are the best possible custodians of our users’ data and are at the forefront of industry data privacy and protection standards.

Position Summary:

The Privacy Manager supports the efforts of the Privacy Department; working closely with all departments to drive the development and maintenance of ongoing privacy-related efforts across the organization. The individual in this position also helps to manage compliance reporting requirements, and participates in the development and maintenance of the auditing and monitoring process for Indeed’s Privacy Department.

About you.


*You will be responsible for providing oversight and guidance on privacy related initiatives, subject matter expertise on privacy laws and regulations, proactive and effective communication with internal and external parties, collaborative resolution of business issues, and exceptional customer service for internal and external clients.
*Manage a team of Privacy Analysts responsible for implementing and executing on privacy initiatives across the company
*Work with internal and external business partners to develop and guide privacy compliance programs
*Understand the flow of information and how the information is utilized and use that knowledge to support the integrity of the Privacy compliance program
*Assist in regulatory reviews, data protection audits, and privacy reviews
*Communicate with teams affected by new laws and regulations and work with Privacy Analysts to ensure that necessary changes to policies and procedures are made
*Serve as an internal expert resource for privacy compliance
*Identify and guide resolution for privacy compliance issues including effective communication of these issues to other business units.
*Prepare and respond to various audits, compliance questions, or stakeholder requests from Senior Leadership and/or shareholders.

Required Qualifications:

*Bachelor’s degree or higher (or equivalent work experience)
*5+ years demonstrated work experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
*1+ years experience with Privacy or Data Protection required
*Previous experience managing a team, including responsibilities related to hiring and performance reviews
*Ideal candidates will possess a strong technical aptitude and be able to effectively communicate with technology professionals; data analysis and/or coding skills are a bonus.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*Highly developed analytical, problem recognition and resolution, project management, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
*Proven experience managing multiple high priority projects and assignments simultaneously with minimal supervision
*Able to make consistent decisions and apply prior knowledge to new situations
*Passionate about digging into a problem and figuring it out
*Previous experience in a software development environment is highly desired.
