The team.

We are a rapidly-growing, fast-moving, highly-capable UX team building the most popular job site on the planet. Our designers work in Seattle, San Francisco, Austin, Tokyo and Hyderabad, collaborating with Product Managers and Engineering to deliver simple solutions to the real-world problems that job seekers and employers face hiring and getting hired. Most importantly, our team is expected to deliver results, and be able to demonstrate the impact our changes have on our business.

Your job.

The Manager of Product Training will lead our Product Training organization, which is focused on providing ongoing training support for the global Product Team employees, to ensure they can perform their job to the best of their ability.


You will report to Chief of Staff, Product, and will partner with subject matter experts, our L&D team, and trainers within other areas of the organization to develop a world-class training program that scales to meet the needs of our growing global workforce.


The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership, strategic thinking and communication skills as well as a true zest for developing others. This person must also be technically-minded, process-driven, results-focused, and have displayed the ability to operate well under pressure.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Product trainers, including hiring, promotions, career development, and performance reviews.

  • Acts as a mentor and coach for direct reports, and models excellence in the discipline of learning & development.

  • Proactively collects feedback from training participants and identifies gaps and opportunities for improvement.

  • Manages team capacity and commitments, to ensure training delivered is high quality with the greatest overall impact.

  • Gathers training requirements from stakeholders and prioritizes new content based on the needs of the organization.

  • Ensures the team can be effective in a rapidly growing, global company. Assumes a global-first mindset in training delivery.

  • Plays a central role in content development, as well as decisions about content delivery, such as the use of assessments,

  • Steps in to deliver training as needed, such as when team members are on PTO.

  • Partners with EEDev to help make training across Indeed consistent and cohesive, and to advocate for training when soft-skills gaps are identified.

About you.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Previous experience managing a product training team in a tech company (Preferably mid-to-large companies, and exposure to global teams).

  • At least 7 years of experience in a corporate training role.

  • Learning & Development focus from an academic background (Master’s degree preferred)

  • Technically savvy, with the ability to grasp new technical concepts and quickly turn them into training content, as well as utilize technology to deliver high-quality learning experiences.

  • Able to balance business acumen with domain expertise; is capable of thinking long term, globally and strategically to solve challenges.

  • Dynamic, charismatic, confident personality with ability to successfully drive projects with minimal guidance.

  • Proven ability to drive results through teams.

  • Can juggle priorities and set appropriate expectations with stakeholders.

  • Ability to operate with relative ambiguity, creating order and structure along the way.

  • Customer-centric focus on the internal training customer, to deliver the best learning experience for that role and for various locales.
