Our mission. As the world’s number 1 job site, our mission is to help people get jobs. We need talented, passionate people working together to make this happen. We are looking to grow our teams with people who share our energy and enthusiasm for creating the best experience for job seekers.
The team.We are a rapidly growing and focused product team building the most popular job site on the planet. Every month, over 200 million people count on us to help them find jobs, make it easy to apply, research companies, and connect qualified candidates to their job openings. With product teams in Seattle, San Francisco, Austin, Tokyo, and Hyderabad, we are improving people's lives all around the world, one job at a time.
As a Product Director of Employer Products at Indeed, you will own the strategy and execution of the products and services that provide employers with the tools they need to make a hire. You will enable employers and job seekers to transparently interact - delivering new experiences that innovate the hiring process.
You will manage multiple Product Managers who extend your vision and influence. You will be responsible for growing the Product Management team through great hiring and mentoring as you expand Indeed’s product and technical capabilities. You and your team, not the CEO, will decide how to grow your products and capabilities to further the company goals of helping people find jobs and growing revenue.
Product Directors at Indeed are analytical, creative, and collaborative. We obsess over data and drive for simplicity. You will guide the team by exemplifying these core values.
Product Directors have the responsibility to deliver results, but no authority over peers in Engineering and Design. A successful Product Director leads by developing the trust and respect of teammates. You will foster collaboration across the Seattle office, and with Indeed offices around the world. You, and your peers, will be custodians of the Indeed culture of data and collaboration for the Seattle office. As Product Director, you will develop programs and tools that carry the Indeed culture forward as you help Indeed grow at a phenomenal pace.
As Product Director, you will be responsible for products and strategy that significantly impact the entire company. You will be empowered to set ambitious goals for your products. Your goals will not be easy to achieve; they should inspire and motivate the team to think big. The goals should be simple to understand, few in number, and clearly communicated so your team and the rest of the company understand what we are doing, why we do it, and where we're headed.
You will sit with your product development teams, and work closely with them on a daily basis. You will define requirements, measure KPIs, and track experiments with their input. You will do data analysis, whether it’s running queries in MySQL, searching through logs, or using the plethora of in-house tools specially built for the colossal amount of data Indeed gathers (see: http://go.indeed.com/indeed-imhotep). Most importantly, you will guide other Product Managers to do these tasks effectively, so you can magnify your impact manyfold.
You will create hypotheses for creating a new product or improving a product, test them, and learn from the results (see: http://go.indeed.com/data-driven). Our product development philosophy is similar to the Lean Startup philosophy. You will create Minimal Viable Products (MVPs), prototypes of new products, and simple tests to validate ideas and iterate.
You will enjoy a casual work environment, flexible hours, and great compensation and benefits. There is a complete lack of office politics; if that is your specialty, look elsewhere.
You will wear many hats and constantly learn new things on the job. You will be surrounded by smart, dedicated, nice people. You will be proud of the company’s mission and your products' impact.
On your first day, we will give you a t-shirt that says, "I help people get jobs." Soon after, you will be wearing your shirt at the grocery store and someone will come up and say, "I love Indeed! I found my job on Indeed. Thank you!" You will smile for the rest of the day. This will happen a lot.
You're someone who wants to see the impact of your work making a difference every day. Your friends describe you as thorough, analytical and detail-oriented. You are someone with high standards who leads by example, and who will take pride in Indeed like we do.
You’re familiar with the HR Tech space. You have used applicant tracking systems, hr management systems, or have hired people in the past. You recognize problems worth solving and love hypothesizing over solutions.
You understand how high-velocity software development teams work, and how engineers think. Most of all, you love solving hard problems that a difference in the lives of other people, whether they be job seekers, employers or your fellow Indeedians.
