Candidate Recommendation team builds machine learning models that recommend best-match candidates for jobs posted on Indeed. The team’s mission is to build the world’s best AI matchmaker that can connect all jobs with the right jobseekers. To achieve this, the team leverages unparalleled rich data on Indeed and works closely with related teams in Tokyo, Austin, and Seattle to deliver candidates’ recommendations.
The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include quarterly bonuses, Long Term Incentive Plan units, an open Paid Time Off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
Tokyo Base Salary Range: 11,000,000 - 14,600,000 JPY per year
As a Product Manager at Indeed, you will be part of our Candidate Recommendation team. You will be empowered to set ambitious goals for your product and team. Your goals will not be easy to achieve; they should inspire and motivate the team to think big.
You will work closely with the development team on a daily basis. You will sit next to developers, define requirements and analyze tests with their input. You will do data analysis yourself, whether it’s doing queries in MySQL, searching through logs, or using the plethora of in-house tools for analyzing data.
You will constantly create hypotheses for improving your product, test them, and learn from the results.
Our product development philosophy is similar to the Lean Startup philosophy. You will create MVPs, prototypes, simple tests to validate ideas and iterate.
We would prefer to spend time simplifying a feature to get it out the door this week than building flashy powerpoint decks for all hands meetings.

Product Managers have the responsibility to deliver results, but no direct authority over peers in Engineering and Design. A successful Product Manager leads by developing the trust and respect of teammates so you will have to influence others to follow your vision.

You will work directly with teams in Tokyo as a product manager on a daily basis and coordinate closely with the counter partner teams in Austin. You will report to a manager in Austin and you are expected to travel to Austin roughly once in 6 months, up to once in a quarter.
Business level written and oral communication skills in English.
Understanding of web development technology

Proven leadership skills
A basic understanding of machine learning is required. Computer science background or machine learning experience is preferred.
Willingness to learn subject knowledge as you go further in order to lead a world-class data science and engineering team.
Expected business trip to Austin: Roughly once in 6 months, up to once in a quarter.
