The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include quarterly bonuses, Long Term Incentive Plan units, an open Paid Time Off policy, and many region-specific benefits.

Hyderabad Base Salary Range: 2,500,000 - 3,380,000 INR per year

Your job.

You work with product and engineering teams to plan and develop automated test suites for a specific set of products. You will use or develop new tools to effectively test products and improve Indeed's engineering processes. You'll develop, maintain and evaluate automated tests week to week and report problems you discover. You are excited about providing new tools to the QA team to make verification processes more efficient. You work with developers to make hard-to-test features easily testable for QA. You understand the inner workings of technologies that you test. You are someone with high standards who will push us to be better, and who will take pride in Indeed like we do. You're someone who wants to see the impact of your work making a difference every day. You understand the role of a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer and strongly advocate for quality. You are motivated to consider the user experience of the site for various types of users, test the edge cases of products, and lobby for having problems you've encountered get fixed.

About you.

  • A person with a BS in Computer Science or a related area, or with relevant work experience
  • Someone who has 5+ years of experience as a QA Automation Engineer, Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), a Software Developer, or in a similar role
  • Has experience on Functional Test Automation and also prudent in conducting Application Performance Testing and System Analysis by using any of the Performance Test Tools like Apache JMeter, Gatling, Locust or similar 
  • Work with team to develop performance test plans and scenarios
  • Experienced in designing test structures that are modular, reusable, resilient, easily maintainable, performant and scalable
  • A person who actively gains deep product knowledge to help them write better automation.
  • A quality champion who advocates testability through code reviews, design reviews, and influencing others with compelling data
  • A mentor for QA Engineers and/or QA Automation Engineers (SDET’s) on writing and implementing automation.
  • Great at identifying and analyzing the root cause of complex bugs in your code as well as others’ code
  • Passionate about mentoring Software Developers in writing unit and integration tests that deliver impactful automation improving velocity and quality
  • Well-versed with incrementally validating investments in innovative solutions for your team’s automation
  • A person who has experience with test frameworks such as PyTest, TestNG, RSpec, JUnit, Jasmine, Mocha, etc.
  • Proficient in one or more of the following technologies: RESTful APIs or Selenium Webdriver automation with Java, Python or other object-oriented languages
  • Proactively engage in all testing efforts including unit testing, functional testing, load testing, end-to-end testing, user acceptance testing, etc.
  • Have hands-on experience using tools like Jenkins, Git, Docker, AWS, RabbitMQ, and familiar with writing Unix commands or Shell scripts.
