The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include quarterly bonuses, Long Term Incentives, an open Paid Time Off policy, and many region-specific benefits. 

Austin Area Base Salary Range: 80,000 - 106,000 USD per year

Your job.

As a Search Quality Technical Team Lead you will collaborate with other members of the Search Quality Operations team, product owners and engineering to analyse, automate and build data-driven solutions. You will develop quality measurement systems and improve operational efficiency through data analysis and tool development which will ultimately help people get jobs. Manage, guide and mentor your team to propose improvements to data collection strategy and measurement models and help define and achieve our business goals.

An ideal candidate has the ability to swiftly work on multiple analytics platforms and choose the right solution for reporting data insights. You have a strong acumen to understand stakeholders' objectives, the metrics that are important to measure quality and performance and be able to collect, query and report the data for multiple Indeed products. You thrive off working in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable building, breaking apart, iterating and rebuilding processes, analyses, and tools.

  • Manage a team of direct reports - technical and operations analysts, mentor them and help develop their skills

  • Manage the hiring process for your team by identifying skill gaps, needed headcount additions, and leading an interview panel 

  • Lead initiatives and propose improvements to measurement models designed to mirror user experiences with our public products

  • Establish goals to drive team-wide results, determine what is important, clarify next steps and delegate effectively to meet expectations

  • Facilitate strategy and provide recommendations for data collection, analyse and compile trends along with technical analysts and empower other partner teams to make quality business decisions

  • Validate ideas, propose and help the team adopt technical upgrades by performing experiments and analyzing the results

  • Establish and maintain good coding practices and technical documentation

  • Help define and set performance metrics, and iterate on these metrics as needed to continue moving the group forward

  • Review existing operational processes and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements by building new tools.

  • Use data analysis to inform your decisions and the direction of your team. 

  • Work in partnership with cross functional stakeholders like Operations, Engineering, and Product across Indeed.

About you.


  • Bachelor’s degree in math, statistics, MIS or computer science preferred 

  • 3+ years of work experience in data and analytical field

  • 2+ of SQL to write complex, highly-optimized queries across large volumes of data 

  • 2+ years of experience in Python 

  • Ability to translate business requirements into prototypes and technical documentation.

  • Experience in direct people management and individual coaching is preferred.

  • Capability to validate and explain trends and results compared to outlined success metrics.

  • Ability in mentoring technical and non-technical staff while having patience and understanding of different types of learning

  • Working knowledge of scalable data storage(RDBMS and NoSQL) principles

  • Experience with BI tools to create data visualizations and building automated and interactive dashboards

  • Possess programming skills to cleanse, manipulate, and report data and make data-driven business decisions

  • Must be organized, proactive, results-oriented, with excellent communication skills.

  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills

  • High level of curiosity and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment 

  • Web development experience preferred (Javascript,HTML,CSS)
