Your job.

Different job seekers and employers have very different needs when looking to be hired or looking for hires depending on their occupation, industry, the desired type of work, background, life situation, etc.

The segment management team consists of segment managers that work to deeply understand job seekers and employers in a specific segment or category, tailor the experience for those job seekers and employers based on that understanding, and influence the marketplace for that segment to deliver optimal outcomes. In some ways, segment managers are mini-GMs for their segment and responsible for the outcomes and success of that segment. As the segment management lead, you’re responsible for all those segments and helping the segment managers make those segments successful.

One of your primary responsibilities will be to scale this team by hiring more segment managers as well as more segment manager leads, mentoring and fostering career growth for the team, working with other functions that are embedded with the team (e.g. UX research), and setting up internal and external processes to increase the efficiency and impact of the team.

You’ll partner closely with product managers across Indeed to develop a more tailored experience and make it easy to scale this process to include more segments. You’ll also partner with many other teams and functions at Indeed, whether sales, taxonomy, UX, data science, customer success, marketing, and many more to determine and execute on how they can best align and support the segment mission. We have some ideas on how to improve the experience for some of these user segments, but we certainly don’t have all the answers and expect you to contribute ideas directly, fostering these ideas in the team, and helping connect the dots across Indeed to get ideas and execute on them.
