Members of the Legal Team work closely with multiple departments within the organization, such as Product, Engineering, Marketing, Procurement, Finance, HR and IT, to review legal issues and implement decisions in order to get internal teams the tools and products they need to get their job done, while mitigating risk and exposure to the company. We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Corporate Counsel to join our team in Dublin. You will be responsible for in-house employment and litigation-related matters, as well as advising on Indeed’s next generation of online recruitment services. This will involve offering legal risk mitigation strategies across multiple jurisdictions, and above all, developing a legal framework for product offerings in this industry. You are business and tech-savvy, possess strong project management skills, and are accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment with people all over the world. Responsibilities will include the following.
Provide legal advice to support the international launches, activities and development for Indeed’s next generation of recruiting solutions, including Syft and Indeed Hire
Review and analyze Indeed’s recruiting solutions and products for compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Counsel Indeed and its recruiting solutions businesses regarding the full range of issues that may arise, including with respect to recruitment and hiring, diversity, ethics, discrimination, performance management, terminations, and general employment law compliance
Develop and negotiate contracts and business protections for the sale of these services
Advise Indeed’s Human Resources and Talent Acquisition Teams on in-house employment law matters regarding Indeed employees and contractors in Indeed’s European offices
Work on employment law compliance projects for Indeed across its European offices, including but not limited to, new policies, trainings, templates and processes
Remain up-to-date on legal/regulatory updates affecting the company, particularly those impacting employment law and Indeed’s recruiting solutions, and implement appropriate changes
Work in close partnership with various other departments such as Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Accounting, Finance, Product, Engineering, International Business Operations and others, to help identify and answer legal needs
Qualified lawyer/solicitor with at least 5+ years post-qualified experience in employment law
Demonstrable experience in both contentious and non-contentious Irish employment matters
Familiarity with European employment laws is a bonus
Flexible, well-organized and comfortable working in a fast-paced internet and technology environment
Ability and desire to work independently and with little oversight is a must
Provide decisive, accessible and clearly communicated advice
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
This position will report directly to our Division Counsel in Dublin
