Your job.

The Senior Legal Analyst is a highly organized individual with excellent attention to detail, who works in partnership with in-house counsel to provide legal guidance to various business units. The ideal candidate has the ability to work independently, and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.


As the first Legal Analyst in Japan, the Senior Legal Analyst will collaborate closely with the US and Ireland while helping to build the team and function locally. In addition to working with our existing processes, this person helps define new processes and make matters even more efficient.


Responsibilities:


  • Manage intake of all contracts and conduct correspondence with all stakeholders regarding status of contract requests, escalating requests as necessary to team members and Counsels

  • Conduct thorough initial review of contracts in relation to internal legal policies, criteria and risks

  • Track all contracts through the contract lifecycle, including drafts, modifications, executions, amendments and renewals

  • Facilitate translations of contracts throughout the contract lifecycle

  • Collaborate with Procurement team on review of procurement contract requests

  • Collaborate with Sales on revenue contract requests

  • Collaborate with Finance on various vendor registration documents for clients

  • Participate in and complete ongoing team projects, such as creating Legal resources and processes for internal Indeed teams

  • Investigate, prioritize, and manage all escalated data requests and internal questions prior to Counsel review

  • Support in-house counsels on ad hoc research and projects as necessary

  • Clearly communicate Legal decisions to stakeholders both within and outside Indeed

  • Assist with contracts and documents circulation, including collecting signatures, filing and sending out

  • Work with various teams to help deliver legal trainings to other parts of the organization

  • Coordinate tasks with other departments and act as a Legal point of contact for internal teams

  • Other duties as assigned

About you.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent

  • Fluency in both English and Japanese

  • 4+ years demonstrated work experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with a track record of appropriately prioritizing and managing urgent projects concurrently

  • Ability to communicate effectively both with internal teams across all levels of the organization (including with members of the board of directors and senior leadership team) and with external contacts (for example, clients), while ensuring compliance with set processes and procedures

  • Driven to improve processes/systems and sees projects through to completion

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to independently exercise sound judgement in decision-making

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct careful and thoughtful analysis of complex agreements and issues while recognizing key legal risks

  • Familiar with Japanese contract and legal issues best practices and able to provide meaningful insight to those in relation to company policies

  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to spot errors or inconsistencies with policy and escalate issues as necessary

  • Strong customer relation/service experience

  • Ability to formulate new ways of doing things in a resourceful way

  • Professional and self-motivated

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word (tracked changes) and Excel is preferred
