Your job.

The SMB ads optimization team's primary objective is to help people get jobs. To achieve this, we build systems to decide when and where to spend an employer's budget to maximize the probability of hire. We do this by owning and operating bids for SMB ad campaigns. Together, with your cross-functional partners, you will define the future of our Ads optimization platform. You will also help influence other product teams at Indeed, as you'll be responsible for optimizing Indeed's marketplace of employers and job seekers. Your goals will not be easy to achieve; they should inspire and motivate the team to think big. You will not be compensated based on whether you deliver product features, but whether you have delivered significant business impact.

You will create hypotheses for extending the platform's capabilities, deliver changes to validate these hypotheses, and iterate from MVP to more extensible versions (See: You will define requirements, measure key results, track experiments, and frequently ship releases. You will do data analysis using the plethora of in-house tools specially built for the colossal amount of data Indeed gathers (see:

Our team is primarily based in Sunnyvale and currently remote due to Covid; upon offices reopening, all roles on this team will have the flexibility to either return to the office or remain remote. We have daily (virtual) standups, weekly prioritization, and OKR reviews, and stay closely in touch. The current team makeup is four engineers, one data scientist, and one engineering manager.

You will enjoy a casual work environment, flexible hours, and great compensation and benefits. You will wear many hats and constantly learn new things on the job. You will be surrounded by smart, dedicated, and nice people. You will be proud of the company's mission and your product's impact.

About you.

You're someone who wants to see the impact of your work, making a difference every day. Your friends describe you as thorough, analytical, and detail-oriented. You are someone with high standards who leads by example and who will take pride in Indeed as we do.

You have experience in building platforms and APIs that are widely used by internal customers. You understand how software development works and are comfortable with a fast pace and managing many concurrent efforts. You have experience working with a large cross-functional team. Most of all, you love solving hard technical challenges to make a difference in the lives of other people, whether they be job seekers, employers, or your fellow Indeedians.
