Your job. is seeking a highly motivated Senior Sales and Use Tax Analyst to join our growing Tax team. You will assist with all US Indirect tax compliance for Indeed’s domestic entities. You are a self-starter who is highly organized, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and thrives in a fun, but results-oriented work environment. This role is based out of our Austin, TX, New York, NY or Stamford, CT office and will report directly to the US Tax Manager.

About you.


  • Analyze financial data from Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable systems to determine the applicability of sales and use tax rules.

  • Review of sales tax data including the preparation and filing of sales & use tax returns.

  • Perform tax research, interpret tax law, and communicate findings to management and other internal stakeholders and departments.

  • Develop and implement indirect tax process and procedures.

  • Assist with taxing authorities audit/examinations.

  • Work on use tax monthly analysis and compliance, developing process documentation, best practice methods and procedures.

  • Register and file any new state licenses and registrations for the Company as needed.

  • Monitor applicable legislative developments and law changes relevant to the Company's business operations.

  • Work effectively with indirect tax outside service providers.

  • Work collaboratively with other Corporate functions on various projects including direct interaction with Engineers and Product Managers to determine possible sales taxability of new product during development stages.

  • Manage and participate in the implementation of software solution for indirect tax automation.

  • Determine proper procedures and documentation needed for sales and use tax exemption certificates management.

  • Perform special projects, as required, assigned by Manager.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Tax or Accounting

  • Certified Public Accountant or seeking CPA certification a plus

  • Tax professional with a minimum of 6 years related experience (public accounting experience preferred)

  • Technical knowledge of state and local sales & use tax laws, regulations, and policies (Internet and software industry knowledge preferred)

  • Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (preferably Workday), tax engines such as Vertex or Thomson Reuters.

  • High proficiency with data analysis and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and database tools

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Great attention to detail

  • Highly organized
