The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include quarterly bonuses, Long Term Incentives, an open Paid Time Off policy, and many region-specific benefits.  

 Austin Area Base Salary Range:  116,000 - 142,000 USD per year

Job Verticals, within SMB (self-serve posting products for small-to-medium sized employers), is looking for a full-stack engineer who is eager to be responsible for the user interface of innovative products that see tens of millions of page views a day. As a full-stack engineer leaning front-end at Indeed, you’ll bring a wealth of skill and experience in JavaScript, front-end best practices, and API architecture to our product team, and be ever-vigilant about the performance, accessibility, and sustainability of the solutions you’re developing together. You and your team will release new code frequently, and use Indeed’s robust a/b testing system to understand and iterate on the changes you’re making to help people get jobs. Our team has a history of trailblazing new approaches and technologies within SMB and you will help continue to drive that reputation.

As part of a small collaborative team, SMB Job Verticals, engineering, design, and product management come together to provide the right experiences for segments of employers posting jobs. By asking the right questions, providing the right answer options, and guiding the right behavior, we hope to create high quality job posts that will yield more qualified candidates for the employer.


  • Work alongside other engineers on product teams to build and improve user experiences.

  • Continually improve code quality, performance and reliability in your product, with a focus on front-end technology.

  • Lead initiatives on your team around new product features and architecture improvements, in collaboration with team members.

  • Evaluate front-end technologies and contribute to decision-making conversations about applying them to your team’s product.

  • Understand product infrastructure and help to define the future architecture of the product.

About you.


  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or a closely related computer technical field with 5+ years experience programming with at least one of the following languages: Javascript, Java, C++, C#, Python, Go, or Perl;


  • MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or a closely related computer technical field with 3+ years experience programming with at least one of the following languages: Javascript Java, C++, C#, Python, Go, or Perl.

  • Minimum 3 years professional experience in front-end engineering, including experience working on at least one public-facing product with a global presence and significant traffic. 

  • Comfort with “vanilla” Javascript and experience with React.

  • Moderate experience with large scale, high-performance systems.
