The team.We are a rapidly growing and highly-capable Engineering organization building the most popular job site on the planet. Every month, over 250 million people count on Indeed to help them find jobs, publish their resumes, process their job applications and connect employers to qualified candidates for their job openings. With engineering hubs in Seattle, San Francisco, Austin, Tokyo, Singapore, Hyderabad and Vancouver, we are improving people's lives all around the world, one job search at a time. The team maintains the Company Pages product, which aims to help job seekers not just find a job, but find the right company too. It provides user generated content about companies ranging from general reviews, information on salaries, jobs, interviews, and photos.
You will be managing a small team of engineers, responsible for the architecture and infrastructure of the back-end services supporting one of the most visually rich products at Indeed. This includes ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance for these services. There would also be secondary responsibilities around development operations (DevOps), site reliability (SRE), and database operations (DBRE).
You will provide hands-on leadership for a full-stack development team building and enhancing products and systems in our service-oriented, highly scalable, multi-datacenter environment. As our engineering organization grows, you will help ensure we keep the talent bar high, and growing the skills and capabilities of your team. - Significant prior success as a Software Engineer working on challenging problems of scale
- Solid knowledge of data structures and algorithms and excellent programming skills
- The ability to guide a team to achieve important goals together
- The desire to solve tough problems with quality software at scale
- An understanding of the value derived from shipping code rapidly to production and learning/iterating on the results.
- Strong ability to coach developers, helping them improve their skills and grow their careers
- Strong knowledge of databases, both SQL and NoSQL
- Experience with service-oriented and event-driven system architectures
- Experience building high-performance distributed systems
- Familiarity with Mesos, Kubernetes, and service mesh architecture
