We are a rapidly-growing, fast-moving, highly-capable UX team building the most popular job site on the planet. Our designers work in Seattle, San Francisco, Austin, Tokyo and Hyderabad, collaborating with Product Managers and Engineering to deliver simple solutions to the real-world problems that job seekers and employers face hiring and getting hired. Most importantly, our team is expected to deliver results, and be able to demonstrate the impact our changes have on our business.

Your job.

The Opportunity.
The Employer Experience team is looking for a Senior UX Designer to lead the design effort to help employers find and connect with the right candidates quickly. You will do it by collaborating with cross-functional team members to craft experiences that are human, empathetic, hopeful and trusted. You will be working deeply in one product group while collaborating across multiple other products to engage with employers and job seekers alike at a global scale.

Our group has co-located, cross-functional teams in Seattle, Tokyo, and Austin. We are currently looking for designers in the Seattle and Austin markets.


Your strategic impact within your first year.

Design the next generation of employer experience products:

  • Execute on a 6 month, 1 year and 2-year vision for employer experience that connects job seekers with employers.

  • Develop solutions that consider how the employer experience integrates key aspects of our full portfolio of talent solution touch points to deliver a personalized experience.

  • Partner with user research to make decisions guided by the needs and expectation of our users.

  • Use quantitative studies to understand business impact and measure progress.


Develop and define employer experiences:

  • Use quantitative and qualitative methods to uncover our user patterns, behaviors and intent; translate these findings into experiences for personalizing the employer experience.

  • Lead the design of the flows and interactions to solve the user and business problems in ways that delight across multiple channels.

  • Leverage (and contribute back to) our new and ever growing design system to make holistic, expressive experiences and UIs.


Mentor your product design team for the employer experience:

  • Champion a studio culture of creativity, ideation, collaboration, critique, demos, curiosity.

  • Mentor and help other designers within your team and the broader Indeed design community to create world-class product experiences.

  • Facilitate and participate in design sprints, design jams, hackathons or workshops.

The Employer Experience Studio is an interdisciplinary team of interaction, visual, and brand designers, writers, researchers, and design technologists. Working with Product Management & Engineering, we push ourselves to elevate our craft and deliver the best possible future of the Indeed product experience.



About you.

About you.

  • 8+ years of product design experience with an accompanying portfolio.

  • 4+ years of shipping user experiences that solve problems.

  • Facility in toggling between the 1 year out and the 1 week out, and forging the connections between the two.

  • Relentless attention to detail with a user-centered approach.

  • Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to autonomously and continually improve the quality of the experience of your product areas.

  • Experience in forging partnerships while being a successful advocate for design to product and engineering leadership.

  • Ability to collaborate flawlessly with multiple disciplines (Design, Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Research).

  • Bachelor Degree Required, a degree in design, psychology, human-computer interaction (HCI), related field or equivalent experience.

  • Experience in (or desire to learn) quantitative data analysis a plus.

  • Experience in collaborating across office locations a plus.
