SMB Hiring provides the platform for posting jobs and getting these jobs in front of the right job seekers, innovative AI models to improve mutual visibility and engagement, and streamlined communication and workflow. Globally, people count on our SMB teams to ensure Indeed’s employer products are available, fast, and working correctly to ultimately get people hired! The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include quarterly bonuses, Long Term Incentives, an open Paid Time Off policy, and many region-specific benefits. 

Vancouver Base Salary Range: 138,000 - 174,000 CAD per year

Your job.

You are the owner!! You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining full-stack products that are used by hundreds of users daily (experience with UIs is a plus). At the same time, you will be mentoring less experienced developers, applying engineering best practices, and helping to create a culture of software quality and operational excellence through the organization. 


You will work with Product Managers (PM), Data Scientists (DS), Quality Assurance (QA), and other stakeholders. You won’t just take requests. You will help to define the product and technical roadmaps and to provide input into the business strategy.

  • Is passionate about software quality, improving the design/development process, and building highly available systems

  • Is obsessive about providing the best possible customer experience

  • Thrives in a highly diverse, collaborative, and cross-functional environment

  • Stays abreast of modern technologies and practices, and judiciously recommends the introduction of new technology into our product

Requirements 

  • Self-directed and capable of working effectively in a highly innovative and fast-paced environment

  • Experienced in leading a team of 3-5 engineers and staying focused on high priority initiatives.

  • 7+ years of software development experience with programming languages such as Java, C#/C++, Kotlin or Go.

  • Experience in front-end engineering, including experience working on at least one public-facing product with a global presence and significant traffic. Practical experience with client-side JavaScript, CSS, front-end tooling, and component-driven UI development (React/Redux is a plus).

  • Experience with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and/or Design (OOD)

  • Experience in building complex, highly scalable software systems.

  • Deep understanding of best engineering practices for the full software development life cycle (SDLC), including coding standards, code review, source control, build, test, deploy, and operations.

  • BS or MS in Computer Science (or equivalent)
