Your job.

We are looking for a highly motivated US Tax Manager to join our team. You must possess an analytical mind, an ability to communicate complex ideas to senior business leaders, and a desire to make a meaningful impact on a dynamic, high-growth technology company. The US Tax Manager will work with a range of stakeholders across the business and will manage all corporate tax compliance for Indeed’s domestic entities. We are seeking a self-starter who thrives in a fun but results-oriented work environment, and is passionate about tax compliance. This role will report into the US Tax Director and can be based in our New York City or Stamford offices.

About you.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the ASC 740 calculations and quarterly tax forecasting including effective tax rate calculations, accounting entries and deferred tax analyses

  • Manage the preparation of the Federal Income tax return and related forms

  • Manage all state tax compliance and the preparation of supporting apportionment workpapers

  • Manage state and local income tax audits including preparation of responses, and communications with taxing authorities

  • Manage the state income tax planning process to drive strategies for cash tax savings and effective tax rate reduction

  • Research and respond to state tax questions both internal and external

  • Manage and coordinate the federal and state income tax calendars, estimated tax payments, and monthly reporting of cash taxes

  • Work with the tax, IT, finance and accounting teams on improvements to the tax compliance process

  • Manage the preparation of the company R&D credit calculation

  • Gather information and prepare state filings required for sales & use, property and miscellaneous tax compliance

  • Analyze significant book transactions and determine applicable tax treatment in accordance with the relevant tax authority

  • Assist other corporate personnel with tax related matters


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Tax; CPA or MST preferred

  • Minimum of 6+ years tax related work experience

  • Strong computer skills (i.e. excel, and a working knowledge of G/L systems)

  • Good research and writing skills and excellent attention to detail

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

  • Self-motivated with strong organizational/prioritization skills

  • Proven ability to work effectively under pressure & meet deadlines
