We are a rapidly-growing, fast-moving, highly-capable UX team building the most popular job site on the planet. Our designers work in Seattle, San Francisco, Austin, Tokyo and Hyderabad, collaborating with Product Managers and Engineering to deliver simple solutions to the real-world problems that job seekers and employers face hiring and getting hired. Most importantly, our team is expected to deliver results, and be able to demonstrate the impact our changes have on our business.

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards include quarterly bonuses, Long Term Incentive Plan units, an open Paid Time Off policy, and many region-specific benefits. 

Remote US Based Salary Range: 92,000 - 118,000 USD per year

Your job.

So what would you be doing?
Indeed helps people find jobs. We are best known for our job search (, but we do other things related to jobs and hiring, too.

You'd be working with other members of the INTUX team and partnering with our Product and Engineering teams in Austin, Seattle, San Francisco, Hyderabad, and Tokyo, validating new ideas and helping teams answer their questions through generative and evaluative qualitative research

Some of the ways you may support the team include:

  • Validate new designs through ad-hoc or formalized user feedback sessions with internal and external users or customers.

  • Plan and carry out interviews and surveys to inform future product work.

  • Build relationships with key stakeholders and clients to gain deeper insights.

  • Establish and manage relationships with research-related vendors.

  • Conduct research activities as needed to support your particular product area.

  • Collaborate with other researchers, product managers, and UX designers to ensure research translates into business impact.

  • Mentor and coach UX researchers on the team and across Indeed.

  • The ideal candidate will take the initiative to introduce impactful user research to product teams.

About you.

About you.

  • 3+ years conducting user research for software/web-based products with stories to share.

  • Able to share meaningful research results with teams quickly. We deliver top-line results in hours, not weeks.

  • Flexible in your approach to research. Our goal is to provide product teams value. If an existing research method doesn’t do that, we invent our own.

  • Able to perform all research-related tasks in the research project lifecycle: Create a test plan, write a screener, recruit users, schedule users, moderate test, create video clip highlights, compile top-line results, create a findings summary, author durable reports, and effectively present and share results.

  • Able to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and act as a strategic partner in product decisions.

  • Experience with remote testing tools.

  • Educational requirements: 

    • A Bachelor’s degree in a human behavior related field (Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Social Science, Statistics, Design, Business, Behavioral or Microeconomics, Technical Communication or other related fields) or equivalent experience. 

  •  or     -

  • Any Bachelor’s degree plus a certificate in user experience from a licensed education provider.


  • Advanced degree a plus.

  • Relevant experience in international design or research a plus.

  • Relevant experience with payment systems and order management a plus.
