Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees. Who You Are
As a software engineering manager, you will help us tackle significant engineering and product challenges. For example, your team might be asked to migrate a legacy API to GraphQL, increase employer adoption by testing UI changes, improve our CI/CD pipeline, or help an Enterprise team bring assessments to a Fortune 100 company. You’ll work closely with Product Managers, UX Researchers & Designers, Data Scientists, and other stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.

We're looking for someone who:
- Obsesses about building software that provides the best possible customer experience and delights users.
- Is passionate about software quality, improving the design/development process and building highly available systems.
- Is motivated by achieving operational excellence in how we operate and monitor our systems at scale.
- Plans and executes in a collaborative manner with excellent communication skills (we’re a highly remote/distributed team so this is a must)
- Prior success as an Engineering Manager on a team building consumer-facing web or mobile products
- Experience building high-performance distributed systems
- 5+ years of full-stack software development experience with programming languages such as Java, C#, Kotlin, Go, Ruby, or Python
- Detail oriented, capable of researching alternative solutions and outlining proposals with evidence
- Understanding of measuring reliability through SLAs/SLOs and driving a culture centered on operational metrics
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Welcome to remote work
Nice to Have
- Experience working with AWS, Kubernetes, and PostgreSQL
- Experience with event-driven architectures that handle high throughput data streams (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS/SNS)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Experience implementing or consuming GraphQL APIs
